Google Maps advertising and promotion
We make sure people find you on the map: we manage your Google business profile, collect reviews and photos, set up advertising in Maps and show you to people nearby at the moment they choose.

- Advertising in Google Maps
- Calls, directions, website visits
Why Google Maps
People open the map when they are already choosing where to go and whom to call: one step is left before a visit or an order.
People find you nearby, right now
The map shows businesses near the person: the address, opening hours, phone, photos and reviews are collected on one card. The search and the decision happen in one place.
The profile works for trust
Photos, services, current opening hours and the owner’s replies to reviews show that the business is alive. Reviews and ratings are visible to anyone who opens the card, so working with them affects the choice.
Honest about local ranking
Google states in its help: there is no way to pay for a better local ranking. It is built on relevance, distance and how well known the business is. So we make the profile complete and accurate: verification, categories, hours, photos, services, reviews, everything you can influence.
Ads on the map strengthen the profile
Ads can appear in several places in Maps: as pins on the map, in Maps search results, in search suggestions in the mobile app and on place pages. The availability of formats depends on the campaign type and the country.
Goals: visits, calls, directions
Campaigns for a local business can be set to store visits, in-store sales and local actions: calls and requested directions. Delivery is built around your locations, and the radius depends on the industry, population density and competitors.
Clear payment
The payment model depends on the campaign type: in some formats you pay for views of the pin, in others for a person’s action, for example directions, a call or a website visit. We explain this before launch, and in the reports we show spend and the cost of an action.
What we do in Google Maps
We work in a clear order, from competitor analysis to reports in numbers.
Audit of the profile and competitors
We check your business card and the cards of competitors nearby: categories, description, hours, photos, services, reviews and replies. We see which queries find you and what is missing for people to choose you.
Verification and data
We make sure the profile is verified: without it you cannot reply to reviews or launch ads from the profile. We put in order the address, phone, links, opening hours (including special days), the primary and additional categories and attributes. If you work on a visit basis and have no place where customers come, ads from the Maps app are not available, and we will suggest what to use instead.
Photos, services and description
We prepare photos and video, the description, the list of services or the menu and, where available in your country, products in stock. A person should understand within a minute why you are good and how to get to you.
Reviews
We build the work with reviews: how to ask satisfied customers for a rating with a review link, how to reply to praise and to criticism. Replies go on behalf of the business and are checked against Google’s policies. Reviews that break the rules we challenge with a report through Google’s tools. We do not fake reviews and we do not promise a rating.
Launching ads
We connect Google Ads to the business profile, choose the locations and goals: visits, calls, directions or website visits. We prepare texts, photos and a logo, set the budget and launch. Ads for Maps run inside a campaign that is also shown on other Google surfaces: the platform does not support showing only on Maps, and we set this up deliberately.
Optimization and reports
We see which locations, formats and ads bring calls, directions and visits, strengthen the strong and switch off the weak. Every month we show people’s actions, spend and the cost of an action in numbers and decide together what to do next.
Advertising works together with your system
The map brings a person to the location: they call, request directions, write or visit the website. We record these enquiries, and they go into the CRM with a source and a status so that the manager sees where the customer came from. Google Search advertising, video and remarketing are described on the Google page.
Other platforms
All platforms and marketing areas
Results depend on the business, the market and the starting point: we do not guarantee sales growth, rating or reach. Account connection and ad moderation depend on the platform, and the availability of ad formats depends on the country and the account. Logos and names of platforms are trademarks of their respective owners and are shown to indicate the platforms we work with. CODE SCALE is an independent agency.
